We have just finished studying a geography based topic entitled Kenya. Throughout the topic we learnt about life in Kenya and compared it to life in the United Kingdom. We had a talk from Jenny who works for a charity called 'Send a Cow' and finished off our topic with a Kenyan day. During this day, we made Kenyan jewellery, mini-Maasai warriors and used our team work to create 'tippy-taps': a solution to the lack of running water in parts of Africa.
Sowing and Growing
After half term we will be studying a science based topic called 'Sowing and Growing'. The children will learn the traditional fairytale of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and will invent their own version of the story. They will also learn about the conditions plants need in order to grow and stay healthy.
