Year 4/5 - Elm

Weekly update

Friday 14 September, 2018. (XIV / IX / MMXVIII)

What a super first week. In English we have been focusing on writing descriptions of settings and characters. The children were inspired by a short film called 'Powerless', a modern day version of Pinnochio. In maths we have been building our fluency with Roman numerals. Why not ask your child about the date in Roman numerals?

On Wednesday we had a visit from Rev Richard, Vicar of Kilkhampton and Morwenstowe, to give us a history of Harvest lesson, and introduction to the life of the Rev Robert Hawker.

School Council Elections

Congratulations to the pupils for electing their representatives. We were lucky to have a large number of wonderful candidates, all of whom had thought very carefully about what it means to represent their peers. The elected councillors are Layla and Solomon from Birch, Toby and Amy from Elm, and, Daisey and Ethan from E

Ash class. We are sure they will enjoy their roles and help us to improve the school for pupils.

Cooking Donations

We will be cooking at various times throughout the term ahead. To help cover the additional financial burden of these sessions, we kindly ask that families support us with contributions of £1.00. This can be made online using the School-comms Gateway App. Please contact the school office if you have any difficulty with this.

Harvest Festival Produce

Pupils will be celebrating Harvest on Monday, 24 September. As we celebrating Harvest in the traditional way, we are asking for gifts of non-perishable products that will be donated to the Bude Food Bank.  Items include:
