This week the children have been learning how to write diary recounts using The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. We are loving this book! We are currently up to chapter 7 and will be reading the next two chapters this week coming. Some children might like to read along with us at home - but please don't read ahead! We are starting another block of work on multiplication and division, and the children in year 4 have started a new science block: states of matter and Year 5s are finishing forces work.
Parents' evenings: 26th, 27th and 28th February (forms not out yet!)
If you don't have access to the internet, your child can complete homework in school. Please let us know, as Friday is too late to inform us.
This week year 4s learnt how to spell words with eigh , ey (ay sounds)
Year 5s had to work out if words were spelt with ie or ei
Please write a sentence that makes sense using each word in the right list:
Year 4 Year 5
Children should try and read 4-5 times a week at home and record this in their reading record. Remember to put next to any reading completed at home. Thank you.
Your child has a times table target that is recorded in their purple book. One or all of their tests for homework should reflect this target.
please complete online multiplication tables test at http://www.timestables.me.uk/index.htm .
Children can choose the tables to test - please choose 40 questions. Do this twice over the week and record scores into purple homework books.
Another website your child may like to try is hit the button. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button
On the last Wednesday there will be NO school dinners or normal lunchtime. We have a bring and share lunch in every class as part of our party day.
To ensure we have a balance, please read through this list and tell your child what we can tick off for the party, and ensure they bring this in next Wednesday. We will ask them this Wednesday what they will be contributing. Thank you.
