Summer term 2 - week 8

These are the activities that will be completed in school this week.

 

Week 8 WEEK BEGINNNING 20.7.20

 

Monday 20th July

Phonics: 

Play ‘Make a Match’ https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/3/matching-ph3w7

Try Phase 4 if you need more challenge.

Maths:

Play Robot Addition. Choose addition up to 10, up to 15 or up to 20.

Remember to use apparatus to help you or use your number line.

Other:

Watch ‘Moving to a new class’ story. Talk with your grown up about how you feel. To help with transition design an ‘All About Me’ poster or make a transition book or passport and use it to tell your new teacher all about you. Have a look at the templates (see below) and use one of them if you wish or make your own. Perhaps draw a picture of yourself. Tell your teacher what you like to do in school and at home. What are you good at? Think about what you are looking forward to in Year 1.

Keep and bring with you in September to share with your teacher.

The children in red and blue bubble in school will do this activity and leave it in school for their new teacher.

 

 

Tuesday 21st July:

Phonics:

Play ‘Rocket Rescue’

Maths:

Spread your number cards face down on the floor. Turn them over one at a time – how fast can you get the cards in order from smallest to largest. Try again with ordering largest to smallest. Can you time yourself? How fast can you complete the challenge?

Talk about your favourite book. It might be one that we have focussed on during the last few weeks or it might be a different story. Draw a picture from your story. Who is your favourite character?  Can you draw a story map for your story showing the main key events. Perhaps you could make some puppets to help you retell the story. Perhaps you could make a new front cover for your story. Why not try to write or talk about a different ending?

Red Bubble Classroom

 

We will be working in Chestnut classroom but we will call it 'Red Bubble'.

The classroom looks a bit different at the moment. Have a look at the photographs below to see what it looks like. See if you can spot some things that look different and some things that look familiar.

The doors will be shut to keep us safe in our bubble. Mrs Flack and Blue Bubble will be working on the other side. Mr Bunning has built a fence to divide our terrace so that each bubble has a safe place to play. Can you see Mrs Flack waving over the fence? We will take turns with Blue Bubble to use the bottom playground.

 

We will have lots of fun in school with our friends!

 

 

 

Red Bubble Messages

 

Please remember to email Mrs Harris by Friday each week to tell me which days your child will be attending during the following week.

You can tell me for the whole term if you know in advance.

If your child won't be coming on a day when I am expecting them, please email me directly (not the school office) to notify me before 8:45am.

 

Children will need a coat and a water bottle everyday. They may bring a sun hat when needed.

 

All children will have a school packed lunch each day, please remember to book your child's dinner in the usual way.
