Hawthorn, Juniper and Willow Weekly Update – 6th September

WELCOME BACK!

English: This week, we have started our topic of Flight. The children wrote their own story about flying.

Maths: In Maths this week, the children have been introduced to Times Tables Rockstars to support their learning and recall of multiplication facts. More details will follow in our Meet the Teacher meetings next week.

Homework: Maths and spelling homework will commence next week.

Meet the Teacher: Meetings will take place on Thursday morning at 9.10 in your child’s classroom. We anticipate the meetings will be finished by 9.30. We look forward to seeing you then.

School Council – If your child has a desire to represent their class in School Council, they will need to complete and return their manifesto ASAP. Voting will take place on Monday in Juniper and Hawthorn and on Wednesday in Willow.

PE Kits – Please make sure your child has their PE kit in school by Tuesday.

Swimming –This year, there has been a change to the School’s policy regarding swimming. Key Stage 1 will have 2 introductory swimming lessons whereas Lower Key Stage 2 will have a course of swimming lessons. Therefore, Year 3 will be swimming from Monday 16th of September for 6 weeks as part of their PE lessons. During this time, Year 2 will have PE in school. Later in the year, Year 2 will have their swimming lessons. A letter will go home on Monday with further details.

Thank you,

Mrs Loudwill, Mrs Baker, Miss Smith and Mr Seldon
