Welcome to year 6 - and Oak & Rowan classes!
After learning all about the power of Earth in the Spring Term, we are starting the Summer Term with a look at the fascinating history of the Egyptians. We'll be writing horror stories and instructions (just how do you protect your pyramid from tomb raiders?!) in English, creating canopic jars in art and looking at how the human body works in science.
In PE, we will be taking part in some cricket with a visiting coach and also working on our athletic technique - in preparation for sports day!
As many of our activities are shared across year 6 (Rowan & Oak), the photos and updates on this page will apply to both classes. Please have a look below for photos of some of the things we have been doing so far! Keep checking back for updates...

Dear parents / guardian of Oak & Rowan,
After spending three days at Budehaven, the children have worked exceptionally hard on our Year Six production. From acting and singing to lighting, sound and stage management, it's set to be an evening of tears, laughter and joy!
We also spent Wednesday on the beach, building sandcastles, swimming and eating ice cream! See below for a few pictures of the day. Your children behaved impeccably and were a credit to you and the school. Thanks also to Jess & Verity Lynes, who volunteered their time to lifeguard for the children.
Mr Craig & Mrs Everitt
Tuesday 23rd July: seated by 6:30pm for the Production (Olivia). Doors will open at approximately 6:15.
ShelterBox - the charity set up in 2000 by a Helston Rotary Club member - came in to talk about the work they do in disaster affected zones, linking with our topic. If you want more information on the charity (or to make a donation), please visit:
Welcome to Year 6!
Our topics for the summer term will be: Ancient Egypt
The Ancient Egyptians are a fascinating topic to study, and we will be finding out all about how they lived and what they did. We'll also be writing some horror stories connected to the topic. Relating our science to our topic means that we will be looking at the human body (and how the Egyptians preserved it!). For PE, we'll be developing our hand-eye coordination through cricket as well as working on our athletics. Later in the term, we'll also be trying our hands at Frisbee! Our focus in art will be on the use of colour and clay to produce Egypian Canopic Jars.
Photos from the previous term are still below, but keep an eye out for more photos as our topics progress!
